Change your assistant’s appearance, welcome message and website button.
Make the widget fit your website
Open Chat widget. The editor groups settings into Welcome, Appearance and Chat button.
- Set your colours and choose an assistant logo. Keep automatic text readability enabled if you want Raxni to choose readable text colours.
- Set the assistant name, welcome message and words in the message box. Use the character counters beside each field.
- Add suggested questions that help visitors start a useful conversation.
- Choose a built-in chat button or your own image, its position and any optional label or opening delay.
When you choose an image, use the crop controls to frame it before uploading. Wait for the upload to finish. If it fails, read the message and choose a supported image before retrying.
Preview, then save
The Visitor preview shows edits as you make them. Use the example selector to inspect the welcome message, an answer with sources, an enquiry, a booking, a human-help request, a team member joining or leaving, a booking receipt and an unanswered question. These examples do not send visitor details or create bookings.
Use Save changes when you are ready. The button becomes available after a valid change. If it stays unavailable, check for highlighted fields, an unfinished image upload or a value outside its allowed range.
Undo changes restores the saved form values. Image uploads and removals save immediately; Undo changes does not restore a previous image. Other edits are saved with Save changes. After saving, reopen your website to check the updated widget.
Use Playground to test knowledge-based answers. The appearance preview uses example conversations so you can inspect the design.
Continuing a website conversation
The website chat reopens the conversation associated with that visitor’s browser. It shows the latest 50 messages, with older messages available in groups of 50. Refreshing returns to the latest messages. Clearing browser data can stop the same conversation reopening; it does not delete the saved workspace record.
Answers use the recent conversation and key points from earlier messages. A visitor message can contain up to 4,000 characters. Each visitor can send up to 25 messages a minute and 300 an hour; people sharing an internet connection have separate conversations and allowances. If sending is temporarily paused, the visitor can still read the conversation and keep their draft.
