Install & go live

Add your AI assistant to WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or a custom website.

Help with installation

  • Written instructions: choose your website platform below.
  • AI guidance: get one step at a time based on the screen you see.
  • Raxni team: ask us for help if you are stuck.

For AI help: Open workspace (sign in if asked) → choose your assistant → Install & go live → Help me install.

Start here: get your assistant’s code

Use these instructions for a website you already have. A laptop or desktop browser gives you more room to see the menus and code fields.

Have your AI assistant ready, with its website scan finished and at least one page ready. Public use requires the applicable Raxni paid access. Your website platform subscription is separate.

Use an account that can edit your website. If someone built it for you, ask them for the correct website login link and editing access. Your website account and Raxni account are separate.

Get your assistant’s code

If Install & go live is already open for the correct assistant, begin at Choose your website platform below.

  1. Open workspace

Open Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Click the long address bar at the very top, where website addresses appear. Type https://app.raxni.com/login and press Enter. Windows: Ctrl + L selects the address bar. Mac: Command + L. Use this bar, rather than a search box inside a page.

  2. Sign in to your existing account

Enter the Email address and Password used for your Raxni account, then choose Log in. If you use Google and Log in with Google is shown, choose that option and your usual Google account. Already in the workspace? Continue below. Forgot password? starts account recovery; Create an account is for a new account. If you have not created an assistant yet, finish account setup and the website scan first.

  3. Check the assistant name

Look at the assistant name in the workspace’s left-hand menu. To change it, select the name or arrow and choose the assistant for this website. With one assistant, check that its name is the one you want.

  4. Open Install & go live

Select Install & go live in that assistant’s menu. If Finish preparing your business information appears, complete the preparation shown first. View only means a team member with installation access must manage website chat and connected websites.

  5. Check your connected website

Find your website under Connected websites. To use this same assistant on another website you manage, enter its public link and select Add website. Use the same assistant code on each listed website. Adding a link does not install the code or read that website into the assistant’s knowledge; connected websites share this assistant and the workspace’s reply allowance.

  6. Choose your website platform

Under Your website platform, open the selector and choose the platform for the guide below. Choose Webflow for Webflow, or Custom HTML / Other for a custom-built website.

  7. Copy the complete code

Under Copy your widget code, select Copy code. This copies the code belonging to the selected assistant. Keep it complete; you do not need to type a replacement or change its address or assistant identifier.

  8. Keep Raxni open in a tab

Click the + next to your browser’s tabs to open another tab for your website platform. A tab is another page in the same browser window. Click each tab’s name to move between Raxni and your website.

  9. Copy again just before pasting

Copying a website address or any other text replaces the code you last copied. When you reach the platform’s code field, return to Raxni and select Copy code again. Return to the platform, click the correct empty line and paste with Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac.

WordPress

Use the free WPCode plugin to add your assistant in one place across your website.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

You need a WordPress Administrator account with permission to install and activate plugins. A plugin adds a feature to WordPress; WPCode supplies the code field used in this guide.

This Footer method is available in free WPCode Lite. You do not need WPCode Pro for these steps.

On WordPress.com, Free does not support this custom-script method. Personal, Premium, Business and Commerce support plugins; JavaScript also requires activated hosting features. Installing the first plugin can activate them.

For WordPress hosted by another company, you do not need a WordPress.com plan. You still need permission to install plugins on that website.

Open your WordPress controls

Keep your Raxni tab open and use your other browser tab.

  1. Enter your website’s admin address

Click the top address bar. Add /wp-admin to your website address and press Enter. For example, for https://example.com you would use https://example.com/wp-admin. Replace example.com with your own domain. This is an example, not a link to your website.

  2. Log in to WordPress

If a login form appears, enter the username or email and password used to manage this WordPress website, then select Log In. Complete any verification requested by your account. If you are already logged in, the control panel may open directly.

  3. Check the website name

Look for the left menu containing items such as Dashboard, Posts, Pages and Plugins. This is the WordPress administration area. Check the website name at the top before changing it.

If /wp-admin does not open your login page, your website may use a different login address or WordPress folder. Ask your website manager or hosting provider for its actual login link. Use the password-reset link on that page if needed.

If you manage your site through WordPress.com

Skip this alternative if the previous steps already opened WP Admin.

  1. Open WordPress.com login

In your browser’s address bar, enter https://wordpress.com/log-in and press Enter. Enter the account email or username, select Continue, enter its password and select Log in. For Google, Apple or GitHub accounts, choose the login option previously connected to your account. Complete two-step verification if requested; Lost your password? starts recovery.

  2. Find your website

After logging in, enter https://my.wordpress.com/ in the address bar. In the Hosting Dashboard, locate your website by its name and domain. Move the mouse pointer over its card without clicking.

  3. Choose WP Admin

Select the WP Admin link shown on the website card. Continue when the left menu includes Plugins. You do not need to create a WordPress.org account.

Find and activate the right plugin
  1. Open the plugin search

Select Plugins in the left menu, then Add New Plugin at the top. Some versions call it Add New. Click the plugin search field and type WPCode. Wait for the matching plugins to appear.

  2. Match the name and author

Find “WPCode – Insert Headers and Footers + Custom Code Snippets – WordPress Code Manager”, with “By Syed Balkhi”. Match both the name and author instead of relying only on its logo. WPCode is a WordPress tool for inserting your AI assistant’s code, not a separate Raxni plugin.

  3. Install, then activate

Select Install Now on that plugin. When it finishes, select Activate. If it is already installed but inactive, select Activate; if already active, continue. In the default WordPress.com interface, Install and activate may be one button. Return to WP Admin afterwards.

If Plugins or Add New Plugin is missing, ask the site owner to check your permissions and plan. WordPress Multisite may require a network administrator. Use this guide’s plugin method once access is available.

Change or remove the installation later
  1. Return to the same Footer field

To change the installation, return to Code Snippets → Header & Footer. To remove it, delete only the assistant’s code you added and select Save Changes. Keep unrelated code; disabling the whole plugin may also stop other services.

If you get stuck

WPCode is active but the assistant is missing
Reopen the Footer field and confirm your complete assistant code is saved there once. Keep WPCode active, refresh the site cache if used, then follow the website chat checks below.

Installed the code, but the chat still does not work?
After checking the steps above, contact Raxni support with your public website link, website platform, assistant name and the exact message or a screenshot of what you see. Say whether the chat button is missing or opens without answering. Do not paste another copy of the code or turn off website security to make it work. Leave out passwords and verification codes.

Official platform instructions

Shopify

Add your AI assistant’s code to a copy of your store’s theme, then publish that copy when ready.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

New to editing website code? In your assistant’s Install & go live page, choose Send to developer before changing a theme. This emails your code and instructions to the person who manages your store. They still need to install it and confirm when it is live. If you do not have a developer, ask Raxni support for help with the next step.

Use the Shopify store owner account or a staff account allowed to manage Themes and Edit code. A customer shopping account cannot edit the store.

These steps are for an editable Shopify Online Store theme. Starter’s simple store, a Buy Button-only website or a headless storefront may not have this file path.

Use a free theme or a theme purchased for this store. A paid theme still in trial cannot have its code edited.

This installs on ordinary storefront pages. It does not promise support on checkout, Thank you, Order status or separate customer-account pages. Do not use older checkout.liquid or Additional scripts instructions for this installation.

Log in to the store you manage
  1. Open Shopify login

Keep the Raxni tab open. In another tab, click the top address bar, enter https://www.shopify.com/login and press Enter. If the correct store is already listed, choose it; otherwise enter the email used for your Shopify account.

  2. Complete your usual login

When asked, enter the Shopify password and select Log in. If you normally use Google or another supported sign-in method, use that method. Complete any two-step verification for your account.

  3. Choose the right store

If you have several stores, select the one where you want to add your AI assistant. Check its name in the admin area with menus such as Orders, Products and Online Store. If login details are missing, ask the existing store owner for access instead of creating a new store. Use the login page’s password recovery if needed.

Make a copy of the current theme

A theme is the design and files used to show your store. Visitors keep seeing the existing theme while you edit its copy.

  1. Open Online Store

In the admin’s left menu, select Online Store. If Themes appears underneath, select Themes. In some interfaces, Online Store opens the themes page directly.

  2. Find the published theme

At the top of the themes page, find the theme currently used by your store. Its domain and last saved time may be shown, or a Current theme label. Note its name.

  3. Duplicate that theme

Select the three-dot (…) menu for that theme and choose Duplicate. Wait for Shopify to create the copy. If Shopify says your theme library is full, stop here and follow the theme-limit guidance below before editing any code.

  4. Locate the new draft

Scroll to Draft themes. Find the new theme named Copy Of followed by the original theme’s name. This copy is not yet visible to customers. If several copies exist, identify the new one before editing.

Theme library full? Shopify allows up to 20 themes. Ask the store owner or developer to review unused draft themes and download a backup before removing one they no longer need. Deletion is permanent. Keep the published theme and any backup you still need. If none can safely be removed, ask your developer or Raxni support for help; do not edit the live theme just to skip this step. Retry Duplicate after space is available.

Open the copy’s layout file
  1. Open Edit code for the copy

In Draft themes, select the new copy’s three-dot menu, then Edit code. Check that the theme name at the top is the copy you intend to change. The editor shows files at the left and code in the middle.

  2. Open layout/theme.liquid

In the file list, expand the layout folder using its name or arrow. Select theme.liquid inside it. If you cannot find it, press Ctrl + P on Windows or Command + P on Mac within the editor, type theme.liquid and choose layout/theme.liquid from the results. Open the existing file rather than creating one.

  3. Search the open file

Click inside the code and press Ctrl + F on Windows or Command + F on Mac. In the editor’s search field, enter </body> including the <, / and > characters.

  4. Find the actual closing body line

Locate the real </body> line near the bottom of the page layout, normally above </html>. If several matches appear, avoid a match that is only text inside another script. Ask your website developer if you cannot identify the correct line.

  5. Make one empty line above it

Close the search field. Add an empty line immediately above the closing </body> line and put the cursor there. Keep </body>, </html> and the existing code in place.

Add the code and save the copy
  1. Copy the assistant code again

Select your Raxni tab and choose Copy code for the correct assistant. Return to Shopify, click the empty line above </body> and paste with Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac.

  2. Check the addition

Keep the complete assistant code unchanged and present only once. The original closing </body> line and remaining code should still follow it.

  3. Select Save

Use Save in the code editor. Wait until the unsaved-change indicator beside the file name disappears. If an error appears, keep its message and ask your website manager to resolve it before publishing.

Preview and publish the new theme
  1. Preview the draft copy

Return to Online Store and find the edited copy in Draft themes. Open its three-dot menu and select Preview. Confirm the preview is for your copy, then look at the home page and an important product page to check their usual appearance.

  2. Keep preview and live addresses separate

The preview may use a different address from your approved website domain. A missing widget in that preview alone does not prove the live installation is wrong. Complete the final checks on your public website.

  3. Publish the edited copy

Back in Draft themes, select Publish for the copy you edited. If a confirmation appears, check the theme name and confirm Publish. The copy becomes the published theme and the previous theme moves to Draft themes.

  4. Keep the previous theme

Saving a draft did not make it live; publishing did. Keep the previous theme in Draft themes as a way to return to it. Theme publishing does not remove a store password or otherwise finish a private store’s launch. Next, complete the website chat checks below.

When you update or change themes
  1. Check your AI assistant after a theme change

The code belongs to the theme you edited. After a theme update or switching themes, check that the new published theme still contains the assistant’s code and the public widget appears. Add the correct code once to the new theme if it is missing.

  2. Return to your previous theme if needed

Before you publish the copy, the original theme remains live. Do not publish a draft with unresolved errors. After publishing, you can find the previous theme in Draft themes and Publish it again. That removes the new copy’s changes, including your AI assistant’s code, from the live store.

If you get stuck

Edit code or theme.liquid is missing
Ask the store owner to check your Themes and Edit code permissions, theme type and plan. A paid theme trial cannot be edited. Do not paste into an unrelated file as a workaround.

Wix

Use Wix’s site-wide Custom Code settings to add your AI assistant’s chat button.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

Your Wix site must be published and have a connected domain. Keeping your own domain connected requires an applicable Wix Premium or Studio plan. Your Raxni subscription does not include that plan.

Use the Wix account that manages the website, with access to its settings. The website’s normal member or customer login is different.

Log in to Wix
  1. Open the Wix website

Keep Raxni open. In another tab, click the browser’s top address bar, type https://www.wix.com/ and press Enter. Select Log In at the top right.

  2. Use your existing Wix account

For an email account, enter its Email, choose Continue with Email, enter its Password and select Log In. For an account connected through Google, Apple or Facebook, choose that same option and account. Complete verification if asked. Already seeing your sites? Continue below.

  3. If your login details are missing

After entering the email and choosing Continue with Email, use Forgot Password? if needed. If someone built the website for you, ask them for access. A new Wix account does not automatically give you access to the existing site.

Open the correct site dashboard
  1. Choose your website

With one site, its dashboard may open directly. If several sites appear, find the correct name and preview, then choose Select Site. In Wix Studio, use Sites and move the pointer over the correct site to select it.

  2. Confirm its name and domain

Check the site name at the top of the dashboard. If it is wrong, use the site-name dropdown to choose the correct one. The dashboard is the screen with your website’s management menus and settings.

  3. Check that it is published with a domain

In Home, review the site’s plan and domain. Complete the Wix publishing and domain connection first if needed. For this installation, stay in dashboard settings; you do not need the Edit Site page editor.

Add the code in dashboard settings
  1. Open Custom Code

Select Settings in the site dashboard. Find Development & integrations, then select Custom Code.

  2. Add a new snippet

Choose + Add Custom Code at the top right. Click the large code box. Return to Raxni and select Copy code, then come back and paste the complete code with Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac.

  3. Check what you pasted

The box should contain the complete assistant code. If you pasted an address or other text, replace only the incorrect content of this new snippet with a fresh copy from Raxni. Keep its characters and identifier unchanged; do not add extra script tags.

  4. Name the snippet

In Name, enter AI assistant. This identifies the snippet in Wix and does not change the assistant name visitors see.

Choose where it loads
  1. Choose All pages

Under Add Code to Pages, select All pages. One snippet then covers the site’s pages; you do not need a copy for each page.

  2. Choose Load code once

For your AI assistant’s code, choose Load code once. The assistant does not need a fresh copy of its loader each time a visitor moves between pages during the same visit.

  3. Choose Body – end

Under Place Code in, select Body – end.

Apply the snippet
  1. Review your settings

Check the name AI assistant, All pages, Load code once, Body – end and your chosen Code Type. Select Apply.

  2. Find it in the code list

Confirm the assistant’s code snippet appears in Custom Code. If its toggle is off, turn that snippet on. Use this site-wide setting; do not also add an Embed HTML box in the page editor.

  3. Continue on the published website

Wix Custom Code is for the published website. A button missing from the editor or preview is not a final installation result. Follow the website chat and public-site checks below.

If your domain or installation changes
  1. Keep one installation

If your AI assistant is already on your website, locate its existing code snippet before adding another. Keep unrelated snippets unchanged. To remove your AI assistant later, disable or remove only its code snippet.

  2. Review code after a domain change

Assigning a different domain in Wix can remove custom snippets associated with the previous domain. Check the assistant’s code snippet again and add the new website link under Connected websites in Raxni.

If you get stuck

Custom Code is unavailable
Ask the site owner to check your editing permissions, that the site is published and that its domain is connected with the required Wix plan. This method does not work by forcing code into a free Wix address or an ordinary page-text field.

The setup looks right, but Wix blocks the code
Wix says its frontend security changes can block some third-party code. This does not mean your Raxni installation is affected. If the saved snippet is enabled on your published website but still fails, contact Raxni support using the link below. Include the public page and any error you see. We can check whether the cause is the installation, the assistant or a platform restriction; you do not need to change security settings yourself.

Squarespace

Put your assistant’s code in the site-wide Footer field in Code Injection.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

Use the Squarespace account that manages this website, with permission to edit its settings. A store customer account is not the website management account.

Code Injection is available with current Core, Plus and Advanced plans and legacy Business, Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced plans. Current Basic and legacy Personal do not include it.

If you bought only a domain from Squarespace but built the website elsewhere, use the guide for the platform that actually hosts the website.

Log in and choose your website
  1. Open Squarespace login

Keep Raxni open. In another tab, click the top address bar, enter https://www.squarespace.com/login and press Enter.

  2. Sign in using your usual method

Enter the account’s Email address and Password, then select Log In. If you connected Google, Apple or Facebook, choose the matching Continue with option and your usual account. Complete verification if requested. Use Can’t log in? below the form for account recovery.

  3. Open the correct website

In the account dashboard, find your website’s preview, name and domain. Move the pointer over its preview and select Go To Website. If the management menu is already open, check the site name and continue.

  4. If the wrong site is open

Select the profile picture or initials at the bottom of the main menu to return to the account dashboard, then choose the correct site. If only domains appear, ask your website manager which account owns the website subscription; buying its domain alone does not create a website in that account.

Find site-wide Code Injection
  1. Open Website, then Pages

In the website’s left main menu, select Website, then Pages. The Pages panel lists pages such as Home, About and Contact. If only the site fills the screen, use the expand arrow to reveal the panel; use a panel’s upper-left back arrow to return to the main menu.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of Pages

Move down through the Pages panel using the mouse wheel or its scrollbar. You need the controls below the page list.

  3. Open Custom Code or Website Tools

For version 7.1, select Custom Code, then Code Injection. For version 7.0, use Website Tools, then Code Injection. The site version can be found at the bottom of the Pages panel.

  4. Check that it is the site-wide panel

Find the Code Injection panel with Header and Footer fields. Do not use a single page’s gear menu → Advanced → Page Header Code Injection for this site-wide method.

Add your code to Footer
  1. Keep existing code

If Footer is empty, click inside. If it contains other code, copy that content into a text note as a backup. Then put the cursor after the complete existing code and press Enter to make a new empty line. On Windows, Ctrl + End moves to the end when the field is focused.

  2. Paste a fresh copy from Raxni

Return to Raxni and select Copy code. In Squarespace’s empty Footer line, paste with Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac. Keep other code in the field; do not use Ctrl + A to replace all its contents.

  3. Check the pasted content

If you pasted an address or other text by mistake, remove only that new incorrect part and copy again from Raxni. Keep the full code unchanged and only once. If it is already in Footer, do not add a second copy.

Footer describes the code field’s location. The chat button still uses the appearance and position chosen in Raxni; it is not confined to your website’s visible footer text.

Save the change
  1. Select Save

Select Save in Code Injection. Confirm the code remains in the Footer field. This change finishes with Save; a separate platform Publish button is not needed for the code injection change.

  2. Use your public website

Website availability is separate: a private or password-protected website still needs the appropriate launch settings before ordinary visitors can enter. The editor may disable custom scripts, so complete the website chat checks below on your public website.

Coverage and later changes
  1. Use it on ordinary website pages

Site-wide Footer injection covers ordinary site pages. Squarespace checkout pages do not support custom code. You do not need additional page Code Blocks for the same installation.

  2. Remove your AI assistant if needed

Return to Code Injection → Footer, remove only the assistant’s code snippet and Save. Keep other services’ code. If the widget works on the first page but stops after page navigation, contact support with the website URL and Squarespace version.

If you get stuck

Code Injection is missing or locked
Ask the site owner to check the website plan and your editing permissions. Pasting the script into Custom CSS or a normal text block will not provide the same installation.

Webflow

Use Footer code in Site settings, save it, then publish to the domain your customers visit.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

The site needs an active Site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace. Those are alternative ways to qualify; this does not mean buying both.

You need the appropriate website role to edit custom code. Site managers and Designers can edit it; publishing access may be separate.

Choose Webflow in Raxni’s platform selector. Your assistant code is the complete code copied from Raxni, not a sample to retype.

Log in to Webflow
  1. Open the login page

Keep Raxni open. In another tab, click the browser’s top address bar, type https://webflow.com/login and press Enter.

  2. Enter your account details

In Log in to your account, enter Email address or username and the Webflow Password, then select Continue. If your organisation uses SSO, use Continue with SSO and its normal sign-in process instead.

  3. Finish verification if requested

Use the verification method configured for your account. Forgot your password? starts recovery. If your sites already appear, you are logged in and can continue without creating another account.

Open the correct Site settings
  1. Select the right Workspace

The Dashboard shows cards for your websites. If your site is missing, use the Workspace selector at the upper left to choose the Workspace that contains it. Dashboard search only searches the selected Workspace.

  2. Find your existing website

Check the website card’s name and domain. Do not choose New site for an existing website.

  3. Open Site settings

Select the three-dot more-options menu below the site card’s thumbnail, then Site settings. If already in the website editor, select the Webflow logo in the left toolbar and choose Site settings from its main menu.

  4. Open Custom code

Select Custom code in Site settings. If it is unavailable, ask the owner to check the plan and your role before buying or changing anything.

Publish to your live domain
  1. Open Publish

Select Publish to see the domains you can publish to.

  2. Select the customer-facing domain

Choose the actual domain customers visit. A yoursite.webflow.io staging address may also be listed. Publishing only to that staging address will not update your own domain. Check that the live domain you intend is selected.

  3. Publish to selected domains

Select Publish to selected domains and wait for publishing to finish. If an error appears, resolve it before treating the change as live.

  4. If publishing is unavailable

Ask the website owner for publishing access. Editing code and publishing are different permissions; the applicable role may need Can publish. Adding your AI assistant to an existing verified domain does not require buying another domain. Connecting a new custom domain is a separate task with ownership verification.

Understand the preview
  1. Use the live domain for the final check

Webflow can run custom code in Preview when Run custom code in Preview is enabled in Site settings → Custom code. Its canvas.webflow.com preview address differs from your website domain. A missing assistant there does not settle whether the live installation works. Keep domain restrictions in place and follow the public-site checks below.

Optional: put it on only one page

Use this alternative only if you want a single-page installation. Do not also follow it after a site-wide Footer installation.

  1. Open that page’s settings

Open the website in Webflow. Select the Pages panel in the left toolbar, find the page and open its Page settings.

  2. Use Before </body> tag

Under Custom code, put the complete assistant code in Before </body> tag. Save, then Publish to the selected live domain. Check the assistant on that page.

Remove the installation later
  1. Remove and publish the change

For the site-wide method, return to Site settings → Custom code → Footer code. Remove only the assistant’s code, select Save changes and publish to the live domain again. If you used Page settings instead, remove it from that page’s code field. Keep unrelated code.

If you get stuck

The code was saved but nothing changed on the live website
Confirm you also published to the domain customers use, rather than only the webflow.io staging address. Then check Website chat and plan access in Raxni.

Custom websites

Choose the route that matches how your website is maintained: a developer, plain HTML files, or cPanel.

First, copy your code from Raxni. After the platform steps, check your website chat.

Before you start

There is no single login address or file name shared by all custom websites. Ask your website manager which system, folder and files belong to the site.

If you do not normally edit the website’s files, Send to developer is the simplest route. Your developer receives the assistant code and instructions, then installs it using the website’s normal process.

For React, Next.js, Vue, Laravel and other frameworks, use your developer’s existing source and deployment workflow. A hand-edited live file may be overwritten by the next deployment.

Option A: send it to your developer

Use this route if someone else built or maintains your website.

  1. Get the developer’s email address

Ask the person or company managing your website for the email address to receive installation instructions.

  2. Open Send to developer

In your assistant’s Install & go live page, select Send to developer. In Send installation instructions, enter the address in Developer email.

  3. Add a note if useful

In Optional note, include your website address and whether you want the assistant on all public pages or only selected pages. You can leave the note empty. Check the recipient’s address, then select Send instructions and read the result.

  4. Ask them to confirm it is live

The email does not install the widget automatically. Your developer must add the code and publish or deploy the website. Once they confirm it is live, follow Check your website chat below. You do not also need to use the file-editing options.

Option B: edit a plain HTML website

Use this only when you know the site uses plain HTML and know where its source files are edited and published. Not every home page is named index.html.

  1. Open your usual website editor

Open the editor or hosting File Manager normally used to update the website. Hosting is the service that stores the website’s online files. Use that service’s own login details.

  2. Find the correct website files

Choose the folder for this website and domain. If the location is unclear, ask the hosting provider or developer for the exact folder and file rather than guessing.

  3. Save a backup first

Download a copy of the file you will change and keep it on your computer with a recognisable backup name. This gives you the original content if you need to undo your addition.

  4. Open the shared layout or page

If the website uses a shared layout or footer file, open the one confirmed by your developer. If it has separate HTML pages without a shared layout, install on each page where the assistant is needed.

  5. Find the closing body tag

Open the file in a code or text editor and find </body> near the end of the HTML document. This identifies the existing closing tag; you do not need to create a second body tag.

  6. Add a line above </body>

Make an empty line immediately above that closing tag. Keep the original tag and other code. Do not place your cursor inside another script.

  7. Paste the complete assistant code

Return to Raxni and choose Copy code. In the editor, click the empty line and press Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac. Leave the code’s address and assistant identifier unchanged. Add it once.

  8. Save and put the change online

Save the file. If you edited files on your own computer, use the website’s normal upload or publishing process to send the change to its server. Saving only on your computer does not change the online website.

  9. Cover the pages you intend

If there is no shared layout, repeat the addition for each intended HTML page. If a shared layout already adds the widget, do not also paste a copy into every page using it.

Option C: find a plain HTML site in cPanel

Use this only if your hosting company supplies cPanel and you know the site is plain HTML. For a framework or Git deployment, ask the developer instead.

  1. Find your cPanel login link

Look in your hosting account or welcome email for the cPanel login link, or ask the hosting company. In a new browser tab, paste that exact link into the top address bar and press Enter.

  2. Log in to cPanel

Enter the hosting company’s cPanel Username and Password, then select Log in. If requested, use the authenticator code for that account and select Continue. If the hosting portal has an Open cPanel option, its normal login route can also be used.

  3. Open File Manager

Under Files, select File Manager. A list of files and folders appears.

  4. Choose the domain’s document root

Select Settings, choose Document Root for: and select your domain, then Save. This sets the starting folder. Reopen File Manager from the cPanel home screen and confirm it is in that domain’s folder. A common folder name is public_html, but do not assume it belongs to your chosen domain.

  5. Download the original file

Select the correct HTML file and use Download to save a backup. Then right-click the file and choose Edit.

  6. Open it with the correct text encoding

If an encoding confirmation appears, use the correct encoding and choose Edit. If text appears corrupted, stop before saving and ask the hosting provider which encoding to use.

  7. Add the code using Option B

Follow the plain HTML steps above to place the complete code just before </body>. Save using the editor’s save control. Editing a live file in File Manager can change the online website directly; do not expect every host to provide a separate Publish button.

For React, Next.js, Vue, Laravel or another framework
  1. Use the website’s existing integration process

Send the instructions to your developer. They may need to place the script in a shared browser layout and build or deploy the site. The appropriate file and loading method depend on the project.

  2. Ask them to check page navigation

Ask the developer to use the complete code for the correct assistant, avoid repeated loading, and check both the first page and navigation to other pages. Frameworks such as Next.js have their own script-loading options; that alone does not verify every custom integration.

Remove it or move to another domain later
  1. Remove only the installation you added

Remove the assistant’s code from the same file or shared layout, then save and publish or deploy using the website’s usual process. Keep the rest of the footer and other scripts. If a developer installed it, ask them to remove it.

  2. Review the website domain in Raxni

After a domain change, open Install & go live → Connected websites and add the new public website link. Install the same assistant code on that website. Remove an old connected website when it should no longer use this assistant.

If you get stuck

You do not know the website’s hosting system or file location
Use Send to developer, or ask the website manager to identify the hosting login and correct source files. A guessed file name can be the wrong place for your website.

Check your website chat

Check your website chat

First finish the Save, Apply or Publish steps in your website platform. New assistants turn on automatically when their plan and preparation are ready. Adding the website code is still required.

  1. Check that Website chat is On

Return to the correct assistant’s Install & go live page and find Website chat. If it says On, continue below. If it is Off and you want visitors to use it, turn it on. A chat you turn off stays off until you turn it on again. Resolve any preparation or plan message before continuing.

  2. Resolve any availability message

Plan required means the workspace owner must arrange the applicable Raxni paid access before visitors can use the assistant. Resolve Preparing, Assistant limit reached or other availability messages shown on the page. A subscription to your website platform does not change your Raxni access.

  3. Open the address your visitors use

Open another browser tab. Type your real public website address into the top address bar and press Enter. Use the usual customer-facing address, including www if that is the address visitors use. Do not use an admin screen, editor preview or a different staging website.

  4. Open the chat button

Look for the chat button in the position you chose in Raxni. Select it and check that the chat window opens with the correct assistant name.

  5. Try a useful question

Ask a short question answered by your business information, such as “What services do you offer?” Check that an answer arrives and makes sense. Live AI replies can count towards your plan usage. Also check the enquiry, booking or human-help flows you intend visitors to use.

  6. Check another page and your phone

Visit another ordinary website page and check the button again. Open the same public address on a phone and confirm that the button and conversation are usable. The platform-specific checkout and account-page limitations still apply.

  7. Run Check website

Back in Install & go live, find Check your website. Check that its address field contains the public URL, then select Check website and read the result.

  8. Understand the result

The automatic check looks for your assistant’s code on the page. Finding it does not confirm every conversation flow. Some platforms add code later in the browser, so the chat may work even when the automatic check cannot find it. Do not keep pasting duplicate copies. Share the check result and what you see on the public website with support.

If you get stuck

Send instructions to your website developer

Someone else manages your website? Send them your assistant’s code and installation instructions from Install & go live.

  1. Ask your website developer

Find the email address of the person or company that manages your website. In the correct assistant’s Install & go live page, choose Send to developer. The Send installation instructions window opens.

  2. Fill in the instructions

Enter their address in Developer email. Optional note can be left blank, or use it to include the website URL and whether you want the assistant on all public pages or selected pages. Check the email address before sending.

  3. Send and wait for their confirmation

Select Send instructions and read the success or error message. Sending the email does not install anything by itself. Your developer still needs to add the code and publish or deploy the website change. Ask them to let you know when it is live, then follow the website chat checks above.

Use your website platform’s normal collaborator access if your developer needs access. Installation instructions do not require you to send your login password.

If you get stuck

The chat button is missing
Confirm that the correct assistant’s complete code was saved once in the correct website, that any platform publishing step finished, and that Website chat is On with the required plan access. Confirm the website is listed under Connected websites. Check the real public page, rather than only an editor preview.

The code itself appears as text
It may have been pasted into a normal page-text field instead of the code field in this guide. Remove only the misplaced installation code and use the correct installation location.

Check website cannot reach the page
A password-protected website or a page behind a sign-in may be unavailable to the automatic check. Use the actual public URL. Share the exact message with support if you need help.

The public website still shows an old version
Refresh the page. If your site uses a cache service, ask its manager for the appropriate Clear cache or Purge cache control. The control depends on the service.

Consent or a browser extension is affecting the button
Your website’s visitor-consent settings or a browser extension may stop the widget loading. Respect the visitor’s choice. Your cookie choice on raxni.com is separate from choices made on your own website.

Continue with Help me install

In your assistant’s Install & go live page, choose Help me install for guidance based on your selected website platform and current step. Your account’s conversation for that assistant is saved, so you can continue after refresh. The latest 50 messages appear first; load older messages in groups of 50.

Choose New conversation to clear the visible installation thread and start the guidance afresh. This does not reset the workspace’s daily allowance or replace a data-deletion request. Each workspace can receive answers to 200 installation questions per UTC day, with up to 1,800 characters per question. Failed replies do not use the allowance. If you reach it, the helper shows the wait until the next reset and keeps your draft and history available.
